Flora and Typology of Wetlands of Haho River Watershed, Togo

Wetlands are recognized as hotspots of biodiversity and providers several ecosystem services, including water purification, sediment stabilization, flood, erosion, climate regulation. This article aims to investigate the floristic diversity wetlands Haho River watershed in southern Togo. Spatial data from Astrium service Google Earth were collected, phytosociological classified following Braun–Blanquet approach. The findings indicate that 72 families total have evolved this environment, with Poaceae (14.95%) Fabaceae (11.98%) dominating. number species was estimated be 323; three most prevalent wetland’s habitats Elaeis guineensis Jacq (2.44%), Panicum maximum (2.29%), Lonchocarpus sericeus (Poir) H. B. K. (1.71%). abundant life forms these moist micro-phanerophytes (34.70%) therophytes (23.50%). However, common chorological categories included pantropical (31.05%) Guinean-Congolese (21.46%). Principal Component Analysis (PCA) used examine how abiotic parameters, depth/degree immersion, influence distribution plant a wetland landscape. research has potential developed into more robust action study for classification recognition.
